To give you an idea of what a typical tech alert looks like (one of 10-12 per month), below is an item we sent to a food client who’s areas of interest included "immune health" (e.g. probiotics):

Alert: BioGaia AB - Swedish maker of probiotics and novel delivery systems
Technology/Product: Company has recently developed a screw cap for use on PET bottles which releases ingredients such as probiotic bacteria or vitamins into the beverage (LifeTop Cap, pictured below).
The cap is loaded with different combinations of its Reuteri probiotic bacteria, vitamins, minerals and natural flavors and colorings.
BioGaia has also developed the LifeTop Straw, which releases probiotic bacteria into a drink upon piercing a carton with the straw:
Finally, the company recently reported on the benefits of a probiotic chewing gum for gingivitis. It has launched trial sales of the gum and lozenges to dentists in Sweden, and could be the first firm in the world to offer a probiotic chewing gum. About the company:
